Visual thinking is a cognitive process that occurs when a person utilizes their spatial-visual perception to learn, communicate, process, develop, or present an idea.
It leverages images that represent elements from the physical world or abstract concepts in a two-dimensional space (paper/screen).
What is Visual Thinking?

Visual Thinking for Problem Solving
Visual thinking is a creative, accessible, focused, and efficient tool for solving complex problems through broad collaboration.
Why Visual Thinking?

Encourages Creativity
Visual thinking is intuitive and easy. However, since most of our work environments rely on text, we often miss out on its advantages. Integrating a different mode of thinking into the process allows unique ideas to emerge. Seeing others' ideas stimulates thought and enables further development.
Visual thinking acts as a force multiplier for the design thinking methodology in product and service design.

Enhances Clarity
When you see the complete picture with all its details, you will better understand the process, the different stages, the stakeholders, and their perspectives. This makes it easier for each participant to find their role within the bigger picture.
Drawing creates a visual anchor/symbol, making it easier to remember the steps, components, and their relationships. The large visual representation generated during the session helps maintain focus on the goal throughout the process.

Drives Change
Created from the group’s own content in real time, the visual generates a meaningful and shared creative experience. A clear picture is easier to understand, remember, and explain to others. The image keeps the agreed-upon goal in sight, reminding participants of the core values that unite and guide them throughout the process.
