Challenge Mapping

Accurate solutions begin with a deep understanding of the problem

Combining visual tools with field research methods creates a powerful multiplier, yielding faster and more accurate results in data collection, analysis, and communication.
The goal is to deliver relevant information and insights that enable informed decision-making.

Service Mapping

Anyone who has worked in service knows how complex the challenge can be: the audience is diverse and constantly changing, needs and conditions shift, and it takes precision and adaptation to remain relevant.

A map that illustrates the customer journey makes it possible to identify the stages and stakeholders, recognize challenges and opportunities, and improve both the experience and collaboration.

Process Mapping

How is the work carried out, and why are things the way they are? What are the underlying assumptions, the habits, and the history? What is the role perception, the organizational DNA, and the working model that can be both analyzed and shared with additional stakeholders?

Field Mapping

Who are the players in the field? What drives them? What is the current situation and how did it come to be? Each domain has its own precise questions – but to make good decisions, it is essential to understand the field from multiple perspectives. This is what field mapping provides: instead of a long document, it delivers a few clear visuals supported by short text.

Every real and significant change on the ground is made up of a series of smaller changes in many specific places. For that to happen, everyone needs to see the whole picture – and this is exactly what working with visual tools makes possible.

Case study

Mapping Barriers to Bedouin Participation in Planning Institutions

The lack of Bedouin representation in planning bodies in the Negev results in planning that does not meet the community’s needs and deepens residents’ mistrust of these institutions - a reality that often leads to frustration, conflict, and even violence. To achieve real representation of Bedouins in planning bodies and relevant committees, it is essential to understand why the situation is as it is today and what barriers prevent their participation.

Rethinking Workflows and the Management of the Hospital’s Emergency Department

Managing admissions and treatment in the emergency department of one of the country’s largest hospitals is never simple. At Beilinson, however, several additional barriers arose that made it harder to ensure a smooth and efficient process - one that would allow patients to receive the excellent quality of care the staff is known for delivering.

Mapping Community Management Structures across Municipalities

How do you build, develop, and manage a community within municipalities? What models of community work are currently operating on the ground? Who leads the activity, and who are the other key players?

These and many other questions that arose along the way were addressed through a visual mapping of the community field in four municipalities across Israel.

Mapping the Barriers to Land Registration in the Land Registry in Arab Society

It is impossible to implement a development plan in Arab villages when the land has owners but is not registered in the land registry. This is why mapping the registration barriers in the Arab society in the north was so significant.

The Mapping Process Stages

Qualitative Field Research

Gathering the pieces of the puzzle - we have the opportunity to listen deeply and observe, with a lot of experience and openness, to ask precise and sensitive questions about what is important, to see and understand firsthand. With sensitivity and tolerance, we gather the stories and what lies behind them to paint a credible and relevant picture of the challenge.

Developing a solution

Assembling the puzzle – a solution to a complex problem consists of many parts. The visuals created at the beginning receive attention and precision from the field. Once the pieces have been collected, the picture is completed that presents the existing situation, through which it is possible to identify the opportunities and obstacles and their source. If necessary, we will present and enable the selection or development of the proposed future.

Creating Impact

Presentation of the puzzle – The product is a comprehensive and professional visual document/presentation that includes all stages of research, background, barriers, opportunities, mapping, model, insights, and recommendations. It is easier and more pleasant to receive visual information that allows you to share many circles with other stakeholders. Harness the right people towards the big picture.
